May Bank Holiday Wild Swimming, Coastal Walking & Yoga Retreat in Cornwall

About The Retreat

2026 Dates

22nd – 25th May

Join us for a wild swim and coastal walking retreat over the May bank holiday in Cornwall. Spend an afternoon with swim coaches and learn the benefits of sea swimming and enjoy a swim together. On the second day enjoy a long coastal walk. Yoga twice a day and delicious plant-based food too of course!

Based within a stunning estate only 15 minutes away from some of the most famous beaches in north Cornwall, this location gives the perfect opportunity to relax in the beauty of the Cornish countryside whilst enjoying activities on the coast in the daytime.

On one day enjoy a coastal walk along the South West coastal path, enjoy blustery landscapes and views and for the brave take a dip in the sea and warm up with a hot chocolate! On the second day enjoy a trip to another part of the coast for another coastal walk and have a go at surfing! Or relax at the venue and have a massage or cosy up with a good book.

After a fun day on the beach, come back to your country pile to relax in nature, enjoy yoga, delicious food, massage and cosy sofas to sink into or if sunny relax in the sun on a blanket on the lawns.

The garden surrounding the manor house and additional properties is a 22-acre expanse of lawns, ornamental lakes, camelia woods, orchards and an incredible walled vegetable garden. When not enjoying yoga in the large studio the lawns create a perfect space for classes too.

There is something for everyone on our Cornwall adventures, if you prefer more walking you can enjoy this as the coastal paths are easy to follow and if you prefer more swimming, SUP or surfing, we can help arrange any of these activities.

Schedule

The retreat will begin at 4 pm on the first day with our opening yoga class at 6 pm.

Yoga

On our wild swim and coastal walking yoga retreat in Cornwall in May, the classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, from beginners to intermediate levels. Everyone is welcome. We have a range of inspiring and experienced teachers who are well-practised at adapting the class for everyone’s level.

Our yoga classes take place in the spacious and beautiful yoga shala with all the yoga equipment provided.

Yoga Teacher

Claire started her yoga journey way back in the 1990’s at dance school, and after a career of more than 25 years as a dance teacher, decided to hang up her ballet shoes and retrain to become a yoga teacher. It was the best decision ever!

Claire believes each class is a personal journey. She carefully crafts the class to the student, looking at ways to adapt asana (postures) to every individual in the room. She really would like to encourage people who don’t think they are bendy enough or look a certain way to come and experience yoga in a welcoming accessible environment!

Aside from asana, the physical practice, Claire’s classes will also have a strong emphasis on pranayama (breathing techniques) and dhyana (meditation). Her restorative classes bring a focus to pranayama and meditation that make them feel safe and accessible to everyone.

Claire believes the practice of yoga should lead you to find some quietness of the mind. To press pause on the constant chatter of the brain and external distractions and let yourself be present, at that moment, whether you are in child’s pose, or headstand the intention is the same. Being present, allowing the breath to flow.

Claires personal practice is Ashtanga, and she has studied both at the Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore, and with Authorised Teachers of the lineage throughout Asia. After Mysore she went to work on a Yoga Retreat in Thailand, and another, a little closer to home in the Carpathian Mountains. Returning home, she came back to the UK in 2017 and has been teaching in the UK ever since.

When she is not on the mat you can find her walking in the countryside with her dog, or on a board either in the sea, lake or mountains!
