About The Retreat
Join us for an extraordinary week-long journey combining mindful movement and wild adventure on the coast of Kenya, exploring both beach bliss and safari splendour.
This retreat is designed to give you the best of both worlds: daily yoga, meditation and pranayama in a luxurious beach villa on the Indian Ocean, followed by an immersive safari experience among Kenya’s iconic wildlife.
Hosted by Emily Gilchrist and travel partner Lucy Dillon, you’ll deepen your yoga practice, nourish your body and soul and step into nature’s grandeur. Whether you’re seeking deeper connection, mindful reset, or simply an unforgettable bucket-list escape, this retreat offers a beautifully balanced blend of stillness and exhilaration.
Activities
Throughout the week, you’ll experience a thoughtfully balanced blend of adventure, rest and cultural immersion. Our time on the Kenyan coast offers space to slow down, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, unwind by the infinity pool, walk the beach at sunrise, or explore the vibrant towns of Malindi and Watamu. Optional activities include boat trips to the marine reserve, snorkelling over coral reefs, shopping for local crafts, and coastal excursions.
Mid-retreat, we journey into Tsavo East National Park for a truly unforgettable safari experience. Enjoy guided game drives through ancient red-earth landscapes, home to elephants, big cats, giraffes, zebras and countless bird species.
We’ll stay at a beautiful safari lodge where you can soak in the sounds of the wild, dine under the stars, and witness Kenya’s incredible wildlife up close. Each activity is designed to reconnect you with the natural world, inspire awe, and create memories that last long after you return home.
Yoga, Meditation & Breathwork
Your yoga journey on this retreat is designed for all levels, offering a supportive, nurturing and deeply grounding experience. Each day includes a blend of practices that honour both the group’s energy and the natural rhythm of Kenya’s coastline.
Morning practices are energising and expansive, a mixture of mindful vinyasa or slow flow to awaken the body, with pranayama and short meditations to centre the mind.
Evening sessions are slower and more restorative: yin, gentle stretching, guided relaxation, yoga nidra or mantra to help you unwind and integrate the day.
On the last day at the beach palace lodge, we will have a beautiful cacao ceremony with musicians, dance and celebration before heading on Safari
Throughout the week, you’ll also explore breathwork, simple embodied practices, and moments of quiet reflection to deepen your connection with yourself and your surroundings. Whether you’re new to yoga or a long-time practitioner, these sessions are designed to leave you feeling nourished, grounded and inspired

Meals are designed to feel grounding yet energising, drawing from a yogic approach to eating: simple, fresh, seasonal and prepared with care. Expect colourful vegetarian and pescatarian options, plant-forward nourishment, subtly spiced curries, grilled fish caught that morning, and refreshing juices and herbal teas.
On safari, you’ll enjoy beautifully prepared lodge meals that stay aligned with the retreat ethos — wholesome, satisfying and mindful, while still offering the unique tastes of the region.
We are delighted to accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and other specific needs. Each meal is crafted to leave you feeling light, nourished and deeply cared for, no matter your preferences.
